Privacy Policy
Effective October 26, 2026. Ovandra operates TubeSort.
What TubeSort is
TubeSort is a playlist organization tool for YouTube. You connect your Google account, pick a playlist you control, sort its videos with swipe gestures, review a staged list of changes, and confirm before TubeSort applies any change to your YouTube account. Nothing is changed on YouTube until you confirm a batch.
TubeSort is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
Data we access from Google and YouTube
With your permission, TubeSort accesses the following through the YouTube Data API v3:
- Your Google account basics for sign in: name, email address, and profile picture.
- Your YouTube playlists: playlist titles, descriptions, privacy status, and the videos in playlists you choose to sort, including video titles, channel names, durations, thumbnails, and descriptions.
- Your Liked videos list, only when you choose it as a sorting source and only where the YouTube API returns it.
TubeSort requests the YouTube permission needed to add videos to playlists and remove videos from playlists, and uses it only when you confirm a batch of changes.
Limited Use disclosure: TubeSort's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How we use that data
- To show you the playlist you picked as a swipeable deck.
- To suggest topic playlists for your videos using AI clustering (see AI processing below).
- To apply the exact batch of changes you reviewed and confirmed, and to give you a receipt of what changed.
- To run the service fairly: we count API usage per account so one account cannot exhaust the shared quota pool for everyone else.
We do not use YouTube data to show ads. We do not sell personal data or YouTube data. We do not build advertising profiles from your playlists, viewing, or likes. We do not let humans read your playlist data except as needed to answer a support request you send us, with the minimum access that request requires.
AI processing
When you ask TubeSort to suggest topics, the titles, channel names, and short descriptions of the videos in that batch are sent to our backend, which sends them to an AI provider (currently Google Gemini, with Groq as a fallback) to group the videos and suggest playlist names. We do not send your email address, your name, or your Google credentials to the AI provider. AI suggestions are shown to you for editing before anything is created.
What we store, and for how long
- Account record: your account identifier, email address, plan status, and settings, kept while your TubeSort account exists.
- Staged changes: staged sorting data is kept until you disconnect or delete your account, then removed within 30 days. You can also confirm or discard staged changes at any time, which clears them sooner.
- Receipts: a record of batches you confirmed (what moved where, and when), kept while your account exists so you can review your history.
- Cached video details: titles, thumbnails, and similar display details may be cached to make sorting fast. Cached YouTube data is refreshed or deleted on the cycle the YouTube API rules require, and is deleted when you disconnect YouTube or delete your account.
- Payment data: subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We receive your plan status and billing identifiers from Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Disconnecting and deleting
- You can disconnect YouTube from TubeSort at any time in Settings. Disconnecting revokes TubeSort's access tokens and deletes cached YouTube data.
- You can also revoke TubeSort's access at any time from your Google account's third party access page.
- You can delete your TubeSort account and its stored data in Settings, or by contacting us at tubesort@ovandra.com. The step by step process is published on our support page.
Sharing
We share data only with the processors needed to run TubeSort, for the purposes above: Google (YouTube Data API, at your direction), the AI provider described above (video metadata for batches you submit), Stripe (billing), and our hosting and database providers (Vercel and Neon) where the service runs.
Security
Access tokens are stored using the secure storage provided by your device's operating system. AI and quota services run on our backend so provider keys are never shipped inside the app. No method of storage or transmission is perfect, and we describe our practices here as they are actually built, not as aspirations.
Children
TubeSort is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects how Google or YouTube data is used, we will update this page, note the effective date, and, where the change is material, tell you in the app before the new use begins.
